Essential Skincare Tips for Winter
Winter, running roughly from December to February is the coldest month in the UK. Temperatures often get as low as freezing point (0oC), though not too much colder usually.
You do not really need an elaborate skincare routine during this season as most people believed. These simple Tips will only leave your skin fresh and glowing
Hydrate
You should make drinking loads of water and fruit-based fluids a priority during this season. Hydrating helps the skin to will help to improve skin elasticity which will reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Additionally, hydrated skin also helps to combat oiliness. Dehydrated skin produces more oil because it is compensating for a lack of moisture which the season takes joy in drying up fast, leading to dry, tight, and flaky skin. It also helps to prevent the lips from cracking.

Take fruits

Fruit and vegetables contain powerful antioxidants that help to protect skin from the cellular damage caused by smoking, pollution, and sometimes changes in seasons that cause wrinkling and age spots. Eat a rainbow of colorful fruits and aim for more than one serving a day.
Exfoliation
If you have to exfoliate, do it once a week and use a mild scrub with gentle application. Your skin does not need much scrubbing because the weather is harsh on the skin already.
Skincare Products
Stay away from products with high percentages of alcohol (astringents) because they will harm your skin's protective surface, depleting vital substances needed for healthy skin, and makes oily skin worse.
Bathing
For the early risers, bath with lukewarm water and apply your oil or butter while skin is still damp to lock in moisture.
Essentially, warm water is more suitable for your skin pampering during this season.

Lip balm
I know there is a huge temptation to lick your lips because of the dry air around. But please, don't! Resist the temptation, it does more harm than good (my point: no good at all).
Always use a lip balm instead. And never a matte lipstick!
