Frontal or Closure? What's the difference?

If you’re having a difficult time distinguishing between lace closure and lace frontal, I’m here to shed some light. Many cannot really tell the difference between lace closure and lace frontal. Being a pro, I’ll like to share some features that will help you distinguish between these two.

Before getting a wig or hair bundle, it is important you know the kind of styles you wish to recreate from it. Both lace closure and frontal complete your weave but there are still significant differences between them that decide which to purchase.

Even though lace closures are available in three-part, free part, and middle part; they still cannot be compared to the frontal closure.  The frontal closure covers the entire hairline and blends completely allowing you to try styling.

Cost:

Generally, frontals come more expensive than lace closure because frontals require more bundles of hair on them compared to closure wigs.

Flexibility:

A lace closure wig cannot be parted as much as you can for a lace frontal wig. This is because the closure covers only a little portion of the front making it difficult to style as you like. There is a level of styling versatility with the lace frontal wig because it is made such that it can be held across all the angles enabling you to wear your hair in any style you desire.

Size:

The closure is a top piece of hair that comes in 4 x 4 inches usually in the center or side of the head to close off stitches. While the lace wig contains bundles of hair of 13 inches across and 4 inches to the back running from ear to ear, covering the front half of the wig. 

Natural look:

The frontal looks more natural than the closure, this is because it covers the whole head, unlike the closure that sits either on the side for the side part or in the middle of the head. The lace frontal covers the entire scalp as if you have a natural hairline in front.

It is also possible to have both the frontal and closure for a complete look.
